The MLAC Ladies Auxiliary was organized in 1971 to assist theAthletic Club in fund raising for the operation of the hockey programs.
The founding members were S. Kaiser, V. Williams, E. Olive. L. Movald.B. Tweed, H. Guild, N. Strecker, K. Wanchulak, I. Barnes, M. Warring,H. Magee.
The ladies, who were mothers of hockey players,wives of coaches and executive members, identified that their major objectives were to provide a positive social environment and to assist in fundraising to enhance the hockey program for the young players.Some of the first fund raisers included bake sales, bingo's, casino's,raffles, Dutch auctions, concession sales, gong show, dances, club celebrity roasts, fashion shows, teas, and wine and cheese socials. The proceeds were designated for the purchase of hockey pants, name bars,coaches and trainers' clinics and recognition of graduating players through awards of Club rings and plaques.
